We are currently seeking a Senior Rotating/Machinery Inspector to join a high-impact project in Mozambique.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Fixed Equipment Inspector to join our team for a major oil & gas, construction, and heavy fabrication project in Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection and verification of fixed equipment, ensuring compliance with international codes, standards, and project specifications. Candidates must hold valid certification in API 510 (Pressure Vessels), API 570 (Piping), or API 653 (Storage Tanks).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of fixed equipment such as pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, and storage tanks during fabrication, construction, and installation phases.

  • Ensure all equipment complies with applicable codes (API 510/570/653, ASME, ISO) and project-specific requirements.

  • Review and verify fabrication drawings, welding procedures, material test reports (MTRs), and inspection test plans (ITPs).

  • Monitor welding, NDT, hydrotesting, painting/coating, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) activities for compliance.

  • Coordinate and witness tests, including hydrostatic, pneumatic, and vacuum box tests.

  • Issue detailed inspection reports and punch lists with non-conformance identification and follow-up.

  • Participate in final acceptance inspections and turnover activities.

  • Liaise with construction teams, third-party inspectors, and client representatives.

  • Promote and enforce safety and quality standards on site.

Requirements:

  • Certification in API 510, API 570, or API 653 (minimum one; multiple preferred).

  • Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience in inspection of fixed equipment within oil & gas, construction, or heavy fabrication projects.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO).

  • Hands-on experience with NDT methods (RT, UT, PT, MT, VT) and interpreting results.

  • Understanding of welding techniques, materials, and QA/QC documentation.

  • Proficiency in generating inspection documentation and using reporting tools.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural teams.

  • Willingness to be based in Mozambique and travel to site/fabrication yards as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on EPC or international oil & gas mega projects.

  • Additional certifications (e.g., AWS-CWI, CSWIP, NACE, ISO 9712) are a plus.

  • Familiarity with fabrication yard environments and modular construction.

  • Fluency in English required; Portuguese proficiency is advantageous.
