Our client is a global leader in risk management, technical inspection, and compliance services. For over 150 years, they have supported critical infrastructure and industrial developments worldwide, ensuring quality, safety, and performance. We are currently seeking a Senior HVAC Inspector for an on-site role in Mozambique, supporting the construction and commissioning of a major project.

Scope of Work

The Senior HVAC Inspector is responsible for verifying the proper installation and functionality of HVAC systems, ensuring they meet project specifications, performance expectations, and international standards. This role is key to ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect the installation of HVAC components including ductwork, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), ventilation systems, and fans

  • Review technical drawings, specifications, submittals, and commissioning plans for accuracy and compliance

  • Ensure installations conform to applicable standards and codes such as ASHRAE, ISO, and local building regulations

  • Identify deviations or non-conformities and recommend corrective actions in collaboration with site teams

  • Work closely with MEP contractors, quality assurance, and project management teams to ensure timely and quality execution

  • Monitor system testing, air balancing, and commissioning activities, ensuring all outcomes are documented and verified

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC-related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC inspection on industrial or large commercial construction projects

  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, air balancing, and commissioning processes

  • Strong understanding of international HVAC standards (ASHRAE, ISO) and local code requirements

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to quality control and issue resolution

  • Familiarity with commissioning documentation and QA/QC procedures
