Scope
We are seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic Human Resources team. This role is crucial in supporting our talent acquisition strategy by sourcing top technical talent for our mining operations, ensuring the client remains a leader in the industry. As a Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, attracting, and engaging technical talent to fill a range of positions in the mining, engineering, and related fields. You will work closely with hiring managers to understand technical requirements and collaborate with the HR team to execute recruitment strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of technical roles, strong sourcing capabilities, and the ability to build strong relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Talent Pipeline Development:
- Proactively source candidates for technical and engineering positions (e.g., geologists, mining engineers, metallurgists, electrical engineers, etc.) using a variety of platforms (LinkedIn, job boards, industry events, networking, and more).
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates to meet current and future staffing needs.
- Research and leverage industry trends to identify and engage with top talent in the mining and resources sector.
- Recruitment Strategy & Coordination:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to develop detailed job descriptions and recruitment plans for technical positions.
- Screen resumes, conduct initial candidate interviews, and present a shortlist of qualified candidates.
- Coordinate interview processes, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring teams.
- Candidate Engagement & Relationship Building:
- Cultivate strong relationships with passive and active candidates, offering a personalized approach to the recruitment process.
- Provide timely feedback to candidates and ensure they are kept informed throughout the hiring process.
- Represent client as an employer of choice by promoting the company’s culture, benefits, and career development opportunities.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting:
- Monitor and report on key recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, candidate quality, and sourcing effectiveness.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry salary trends, talent availability, and competitor activities.
- Onboarding & Candidate Experience:
- Support the HR team in ensuring a smooth transition for new hires, assisting with the onboarding process as needed.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring journey, fostering a professional and welcoming environment.
Key Requirements:
- Experience & Background:
- 3+ years of experience in technical recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably within the mining, engineering, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of technical roles and requirements in the resources industry.
- Proven experience with sourcing tools and platforms, including LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and candidate databases.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional sourcing skills, with the ability to engage and attract passive candidates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to assess technical qualifications and competencies.
- Language & Local Knowledge:
- Fluent in French (spoken and written) is essential. Proficiency in English is a plus.
- Knowledge of the local labor market in New Caledonia and the broader Pacific region is advantageous.
