Project Description

Our client is an African and international mining company.

In response to the increasing river and maritime traffic in its operational area, and the daily challenge of safety at its sites, our client wishes to implement a coherent and appropriate training and retraining program for seafarers, with a particular focus on pilot training aimed at demonstrating operational efficiency.

The departures and arrivals of ships calling at the port require acquired skills in piloting.

The need, therefore, is to create a short- and medium-term continuous training program to ensure the safety and operational performance of ship movements and port activities in general.

The program will cover the training of student pilots and provide technical support to tugboat captains to enable operational synergy that is favorable to tidal, weather, and shipping constraints.

The holder will manage the planning, organization, control, and evaluation of activities within their responsibility while maintaining a close relationship with the port authority.

The production of observation reports on docking, mooring, departure, and buoyage operations remains an important part of their roles and responsibilities

Furthermore, the trainer will be responsible for carrying out piloting activities in accordance with the planning of ship movements
