Our client is a global leader in technical inspection, quality assurance, and industrial risk management. With over 150 years of expertise, they ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of complex industrial assets worldwide. We are currently seeking a Senior Rotating/Machinery Inspector to join a high-impact project in Mozambique.
The Senior Expeditor is responsible for overseeing the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for oil & gas, construction, and fabrication projects. This role ensures that suppliers and subcontractors meet delivery commitments in accordance with the project schedule and specifications. The Senior Expeditor will coordinate with engineering, procurement, logistics, and construction teams to identify and resolve issues that may impact timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage the expediting process of materials and equipment from purchase order to delivery at site.
Review procurement documentation, purchase orders, and contractual terms to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Establish strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to track the status of deliverables.
Proactively identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to mitigate schedule impacts.
Attend supplier meetings and conduct site visits to monitor progress, inspect readiness, and resolve issues.
Liaise with internal stakeholders including engineering, quality control, logistics, and construction teams.
Maintain detailed and accurate expediting reports and dashboards for management.
Track milestone dates, prepare delivery forecasts, and report progress against the project procurement plan.
Ensure compliance with project quality and HSE standards during expediting and delivery phases.
Support material readiness for site construction and commissioning activities.
Participate in vendor performance evaluations and post-project close-out.Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in expediting or procurement within the oil & gas or heavy industrial construction sector.
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, supply chain logistics, and vendor management.
Proven track record of expediting critical-path items in fast-paced project environments.
Familiarity with international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs clearance.
Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and expediting software/tools.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working on EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, API, and ISO.
Knowledge of fabrication yards, module assembly, and heavy equipment logistics.
Certification in supply chain or project management (e.g., PMP, APICS, CSCP) is a plus.
