Position: Fabrication Manager / Coordinator

About the job

We are now looking for a Fabrication Manager to join our team for our Nigeria location.

This is an exciting new post in which you will work in a dynamic atmosphere alongside our Technical teams, all of whom are based in the same area.

The Role


This role could be ideal for someone in a comparable position or a Mechanical Engineer wishing to shift away from regular project-related travel.

  • Lead, plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing activities from concept to delivery.
  • Oversee project finances, production timelines, and resources to guarantee timely delivery within budget.
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineers, designers, project managers, clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet and exceed project requirements.
  • Supervise the purchase of supplies and subcontractor services, negotiating contracts and agreements as necessary.
  • Monitor progress, resolve concerns, and ensure that all safety and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain productivity while ensuring that all projects yield the best value possible.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, including measures for minimizing interruptions and delays.

What You'll Need for Success

  • Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in the construction/fabrication business, specializing in steel fabrication and installation.
  • Familiarity with Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) goods and procedures for Building Services Modularization, including plant skids, service modules, and plant/energy centres.
  • A thorough understanding of the steelwork processes, techniques, and regulations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Experienced in the capacity of Responsible Welding Coordinator.
  • Effective people management abilities include leadership, dispute resolution, and performance management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

It would be ideal if you

  • Understanding and Basic Use AutoCAD Packages
  • Have a thorough understanding of structural loads and computations.
  • Experience with estimating
