Welding inspector shall in general be responsible for monitoring performance of Quality Control matters. Main tasks include:
- Monitor/ review material test certificates in line with project specifications.
- Ensure project preservation requirements are followed.
- Ensure traceability of materials are maintained.
- Witness PQR, welder qualification ensuring welds are performed as per approved procedures.
- Witness PQR and welder qualification mechanical testing as per requirements.
- Witness manufacturing activities as per agreed ITP ensuring compliance to project standards.
- Endorse all associated reports and ITP points where appropriate.
- Ensure manufacture, record book is completed, reviewed, endorsed, and appropriately saved in agreed storage location.
- Feedback into supplier performance evaluation.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Project HSES standards & documentation.
- Fully committed to Project ethical values and to achieve Project expectations and goals, which shall include a proactive approach with other project department to achieve these goals.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years in Welding Inspection.
- Responsible for timely inspection during fabrication and installation, proactive in the prevention of non - compliance and problem resolution.
- Attention to detail, commitment to a "Right - First - Time" ethos.
- Good coordination, interpersonal skills.
- Good written skills, ability to present data in a clear and concise manner.
- Self-motivating, well organized, resourceful and proactive.
Qualification
- Previous experience in QC inspection essential.
- Structural fabrication essential.
- Fully conversant with relevant general international standards (e.g. ISO, ASME, ASTM, EN etc.)
- CSWIP welding inspection qualification essential.
- CSWIP Level 2 or PCN Level 2 in Radiographic Interpretation.
- Other NDT qualification advantage.
- Painting appreciation advantage.
