Contractor Management Superintendent
Location: Perth CBD, WA
Role Purpose
The Superintendent of Contractor Management is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and management of contractor management systems, operating processes, and procedures to ensure the effective management and operation of all contractors providing goods and services on site.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide direction, support, and tools to Site Contract Owners to ensure safe, effective,and adequate operational site management is maintained
- Set and provide direction to contract owners to ensure contractor performance indicators are identified and met
- Attend and record site contract performance review meetings
- Ensure contractor compliances with OHS and environmental policies and procedures
- Manage and maintain records of all contractors on site and ensure compliance with Site procedures and processes
- Liaise with Supply & Logistics for any commercially related contract requirements
- Manage and maintain contractor headcount, operational costs, and performance data reporting requirements
- Assist with the effective operation of the aerodrome, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide air transport services to Site
- Support operational continuous improvement and business optimisation initiatives; prepare and manage applicable budgets
- Ensure systems are implemented to support appropriate job procedures and standards
- Manage employee performance, growth, and development in accordance with HR policies and systems.
Key Duties/Tasks:
- Provide guidance to Contract Owners in relation to their contract responsibilities, including regular meetings, ROE requirements and weekly service receipt process
- Manage, measure, and approve contractor management and spending to achieve operational efficiencies and measure against agreed targets.
- Develop fit-for-purpose KPI metrics and guidelines to assist contract owners in the process of monthly and quarterly contract meetings with major contractors to hold them accountable to Contract SOW’s, KPIs milestones, remedies, penalties, and corrective actions
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits as required to ensure major contracts are being maintained and provided as per the contract scope of work and KPIs.
- Observe company policy and delegation limits for budgeted operating expenditure
- Manage the EPOCH process to ensure the timely approval of invoices
- Ensure the weekly service receipting is undertaken to maintain accurate weekly cost reporting requirements
- Facilitate the timely action of mismatched service line reports (GRNI).
Key Qualifications Required:
- Appropriate tertiary level,preferably witha postgraduate qualification inbusiness management.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
Work Knowledge
- Sound understanding of contractor, commercial, financial and logistics management activities at a large-scale mining and/or mineral processing operation
- Proven contract management skills
- Proven ability to deliver results and lead a team to deliver a high level of customer support
- Demonstrated experience in managing change within large organisations
- Experience in managing department costs and budgeting
- Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
- High level understanding of all relevant legislation relevant to the role in the mining industry in WA.
Computer Skills
- Sound data manipulation and analytical ability
- Good computer skillswith theability touse integrated management systems, wordprocessing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.
Communication Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels, verbally or in writing
- Confident communicator with senior management and internal and external stakeholders.
Physical task capabilities:
- Travel in small aircraft and stay in fly-in, fly-out camp accommodation
- Manuever around machinery and machinery compartments•Exposure to live electrical parts, chemicals, dust, lubricants, noise, weather, confined spaces, and heights
- Able to meet the physical demands of a remote mine site in an area of extreme temperatures
- The levelof mobilitymust allow employees to comply with emergency evacuation procedures.
