Job Title: Senior Rotating/Machinery Inspector

Our client is a global leader in technical inspection, quality assurance, and industrial risk management. With over 150 years of expertise, they ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of complex industrial assets worldwide. We are currently seeking a Senior Rotating/Machinery Inspector to join a high-impact project in Mozambique.
The Senior Rotating/Machinery Inspector will be responsible for overseeing the inspection, installation, and commissioning of critical rotating equipment. The role ensures all machinery performs to specification, adheres to international standards, and is installed with long-term operational integrity in mind.
Conduct inspections and quality checks on rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, and motors
Verify equipment installation procedures, including alignment checks, vibration monitoring, and functional testing
Review vendor documentation, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) reports, and commissioning records
Provide on-site technical support during installation, troubleshooting, and startup phases
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards such as API, ISO, and OEM specifications
Collaborate with mechanical, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to identify and resolve machinery issues
Prepare detailed reports highlighting inspection findings, test results, and recommended corrective actions
Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting and commissioning rotating equipment in Oil & Gas, power, or heavy industries
Strong knowledge of rotating machinery design, diagnostics, and condition monitoring tools (e.g., vibration analysis, laser alignment)
Experience interpreting OEM specifications, equipment manuals, and mechanical drawings
Familiarity with API standards related to rotating equipment (API 610, API 617, etc.)
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment
