Job Overview:
The Offshore Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of offshore oil and gas facilities. The individual in this position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling all preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment and systems. This role requires close collaboration with various departments, including operations, engineering, procurement, and safety, to ensure maintenance tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules for all offshore equipment and systems.
- Prioritize and allocate resources for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate with operations and other departments to minimize downtime and ensure maintenance activities are completed without disrupting production.
Work Order Management:
- Create, manage, and track work orders for all maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Ensure work orders are accurate, detailed, and aligned with operational priorities.
- Monitor work order progress and update schedules accordingly.
- Materials and Resources Coordination:
- Identify and procure necessary materials, tools, and spare parts required for maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate logistics for the timely delivery of materials and personnel to the offshore site.
- Work closely with the procurement team to manage inventory levels and ensure availability of critical spares.
Technical Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment history.
- Prepare detailed reports on maintenance performance, highlighting key metrics such as equipment reliability, downtime, and maintenance costs.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory and company standards.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations as required.
- Promote a safety culture within the maintenance team and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and develop corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement reliability improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience in a similar role may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance planning within the oil and gas industry, with at least 2 years of offshore experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo) and AutoCAD, strong understanding of maintenance best practices, and knowledge of offshore equipment and systems.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CMRT (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician), or equivalent are advantageous.
- With valid Offshore Documents such as BOSIET or equivalent, OGUK Medical, etc.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Safety: Strong commitment to safety and understanding of safety regulations in the offshore oil and gas industry.
Work Conditions:
- Offshore rotational schedule (e.g., 14 days on/14 days off or 28 days on/28 days off).
- Work in harsh environmental conditions, including exposure to high noise levels, confined spaces, and heights.
