Introduction

We are searching for a committed mining planning engineer to join our team. As a Mine Planning Engineer, you will design and optimize mining plans to ensure efficient resource utilization while adhering to safety and sustainability standards. You will collaborate closely with the operations, geology, and maintenance teams to meet production objectives in a cost-effective and responsible manner.

Responsibilities:

Design of mining plans:

  • Create short- and long-term mining plans with specialized software (such as Surpac, MineSight, or others).
  • Integrate geological, geotechnical, and engineering data to create reliable mine layouts.

Resource Optimization:

  • Identify and suggest techniques for maximizing the use of mining resources while reducing operational expenses.
  • Run simulations and analyses to compare different scenarios and discover the best practices.

Production Management:

  • Collaborate with operational teams to successfully implement mining plans.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to mining production, and offer remedial actions as needed.

Safety and Durability:

  • Ensure that all mining activities meet safety and environmental standards.
  • Identify and implement strategies that will increase the sustainability of mining operations.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Effective communication with internal and external teams is required to enable proper coordination of mining activities.
  • Collaborate with geology, maintenance, and other stakeholders to address problems and improve procedures.

Required skills:

  • A degree in mining engineering or a similar field.
  • Prior experience with mine planning, preferably in the mining industry.
  • Proficiency in mine design and planning software (Surpac, MineSight, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical skills and the capacity to solve complicated challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Expertise in mining safety and environmental requirements.
