Job description :
We are seeking an Electrical Package Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the electrical materials part of a package/mechanical requisition, including essential diesel generators, large pumps & compressors driven by electric motors, and HVAC systems.
Scope of works :
- Review bidders’ proposals and participate in evaluation/bid tabulation issued by the package manager.
- Comment on vendor documents in accordance with applicable specifications and design standards, focusing on electrical equipment (motors, VFDs, distribution panels, electrical heaters, thyristor panels) and electrical design (cable routing, interface points, earthing, lighting).
- Attend clarification meetings with package vendors.
- Manage electrical interfaces between the package and other equipment such as MV & LV switchboards, Electrical Control System.
- Inform the procurement team and package manager of any revisions to applicable deliverables for further action towards bidders and/or vendors.
- Ensure follow-up of vendor documentation and technical compliance with contract specifications.
- Respond to company comments.
- Strictly follow up and report to management on the progress of critical document submissions and information such as consumer lists, cable schedules, and interface drawings.
- Be proactive in organizing working sessions to collect all final data in due time.
- Populate the Smartplant Electrical Database with all required vendor data.
- Provide design engineers with equipment data (from estimated values/preliminary information to final data) required for installation studies and other activities.
- Regularly report to the Lead Discipline Engineer (or their deputy) on deliverables with hold items, blocking technical issues, missing interface data, vendor documentation submission progress and delays, and company comment status.
- Identify all necessary interfaces, whether internal, external, or inter-discipline, and coordinate with the Lead Discipline Engineer or their deputy.
- Obtain missing information from partners.
- Prepare and assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Identify and alert on any changes introduced by the company or other parties
Qualifications :
Experience :
- 10 years and more in general electrical design and installation (power, earthing, and lighting) in the Oil & Gas industry.
Skills :
- Knowledge of engineering workflow.
- Knowledge of IEC standards, IECEx, and/or ATEX certification schemes.
- Fluent in English (writing technical documents, minutes of meetings, interfacing with partners, clients).
- Good communication skills to manage interfaces with other electrical team members (Electrical Control System engineer, design designer) and other disciplines.
- Knowledge of Smartplant Electrical, Adobe Acrobat.
- Site/field experience appreciated
