Diving Specialist

Air Diver Responsibilities

The diver must work on the deck as a standby and underwater using various equipment under the guidance of the Air Diving Supervisor. May participate in supervised panel time to fulfil the necessary IMCA requirements for the Air Dive Supervisor qualification. The position will be accountable for the following duties:

Management

  • Collaborating with the Life Support Supervisor, Dive Supervisor, and Dive Technicians to assess equipment readiness. Providing feedback and interpreting instructions throughout diving tasks.
  • Ensure a thorough shift handover that includes safe work procedures and working conditions.
  • Ensuring that all operational or system modifications comply with the company's Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Engaging in feedback and creating emergency training and drills.
  • Report any disease or medical condition that could hinder safe diving.

Security

  • Anticipating hazardous working circumstances on deck and during sub-sea activities.
  • Operations are conducted in compliance with business standards, assuring adherence to proper protocol.
  • Emergency training and familiarisation with the dive system are conducted following business norms.
  • Proficient with utilising personal survival equipment in bell and hyperbaric lifeboat.
  • Understanding of the operating aspects of the internal firefighting apparatus in the dive system.
  • Ensure that any extra work or panel hours are scheduled appropriately and do not encroach on their primary tasks while operating as a standby diver.

Operations

  • Make sure that knowledgeable staff conducts all equipment inspections and procedures.
  • Acquainted with all facets of the system and equipment
  • Proficient comprehension, expertise, and control of diver's umbilical lengths to meet task specifications.
  • Make sure to understand the task's scope and ensure it is within your current level of ability.
  • Operate necessary tools for the task and make sure any uncertainties are addressed before starting the dive.
  • Proficient understanding and practical experience with gas suppliers and reclamation systems.
  • Proficiency in decompression and excursion dive tables.

Technical Systems

  • Documenting any incidences of equipment malfunction or failure. · Recording equipment failures in the system defects record and reporting them as needed.
  • Make sure all documentation is pertinent and can be traced inside the BMS, FMS, or excerpts from vendor operational manuals.

Individuals

  • Continuous staff guidance and prompt evaluation of appraisals and competency records
  • Continued to record any pertinent information in their personnel log book
  • Experienced in the company's essential human resources policies and procedures.

Credentials

  • Skilled in spool installation, risers, clams, and basic subsea construction activities.
  • Certified as an IMCA Air Dive Supervisor
  • H2S (Opito Approved).
  • STCW certification is mandatory in many regions, except the Middle East.

Required

  • ·Proficient in rigging and welding

Good to have but not necessary

  • Proficient in Flexilay rigging
  • Possess OPITO or STCW Fast Rescue boat certificate (with outboard engine)
  • National Powerboat Certificate Level 2 endorsed by the Royal Yachting Association
