With over 150 years of experience, they partner with major industrial, energy, and infrastructure clients to ensure project integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance. We are currently seeking a Senior Material Inspector to support a major project in Mozambique.
Scope of Work
The Senior Material Inspector will oversee the inspection, traceability, and documentation of materials used in construction and fabrication activities. This role is critical to ensuring materials meet project specifications and international standards throughout the procurement and usage lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Inspect and verify material certificates for compliance with applicable standards (ASTM, ASME, EN, etc.) and project specifications

Conduct receiving inspections for incoming materials and ensure proper storage and handling practices on-site

Ensure full traceability of materials from delivery to installation, including tagging and documentation tracking

Identify non-conforming materials and initiate appropriate corrective and preventive actions

Coordinate closely with procurement, engineering, and QA/QC departments to ensure materials are approved and ready for use

Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare detailed reports documenting findings and follow-up actions
Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Degree or diploma in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline

Minimum 5 years of experience in material inspection within oil & gas, energy, or large infrastructure projects

Strong knowledge of international material standards (ASTM, ASME, EN, ISO) and testing requirements

Proficient in document control, traceability systems, and quality procedures

Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage documentation and inspection records

Experience in coordination with multidisciplinary teams in high-specification environments
